2003 - Sunrise was founded and was originally called Sunrise Plumbing & Property services, the name sunrise was a taken from a town on the East Coast close to our hearts called Lowestoft which is known as the “Sunrise” Coast where he had a holiday home until 2018. Starting from scratch I set up as a 1 man band in an old Escort Van, building a business based on offering customers a genuine local cost effective plumbing and property service based on traditional values (Punctual, Honest, Reliable and friendly) we covered plumbing, drainage, bathroom installations and offered a 24/7 emergency plumbing service and as we worked from a well stocked van we could in most cases repair the issue on our 1st visit.
Within 12 months of trading the success of the business was making news in the local newspaper the Bromsgrove Advertiser.
2005 - Sunrise Plumbing and property services was approached by a Management company looking after one largest breweries in the UK we were asked we would cover the emergency plumbing work in there central breweries mainly based around the Worcester area (Upton On Severn, Evesham, Pershore, Drakes Broughton and Droitwich Spa.)
Our willingness to offer a 24/7 emergency plumbing call out service gave us the opportunity to undertake further regular emergency plumbing repairs in The Radisson Hotel Birmingham, The Mail Box Birmingham and The Post Box Birmingham the growth of the business then allowed my wife to join the company full time to manage bookings and schedule work.
2008 - one if the biggest changes was about to happen to Sunrise we dropped the property services and became Gas Safe Registered allowing us to undertake boiler breakdowns, boiler repairs boiler installations, boiler servicing, and gas safety inspections
This led to the rebranding of the business to Sunrise Plumbing and Heating.
2009 - we became one of the 1st Baxi Approved Installers in the Bromsgrove area, to date we are still Approved by Baxi boilers
2012 - we were approached to undertake work for one of the largest water utility company’s in the UK covering areas from Cheltenham to Welshpool, Coventry to Birmingham.
Still a one man band and faced with some tough decisions in which direction we wanted to be heading we decided to finish with the brewery work as it was becoming more irregular and with the emergency plumbing work and utility work going well we could easily work 14 hours a day and even some nights, although this was great security it was extremely hard work and was stopping us from building a local customer base which was what we originally set out to do.
2013 - Sunrise Plumbing and Heating welcomed Jordan (Stepson) to the business Jordan had achieved his City & Guilds in Plumbing, with another qualified plumber on board we continued to undertake take work for the. Water board but stopped sub contracting the emergency plumbing service and went after building a local customer base.
To boost our local online presence we joined Checkatrade which allowed us to build the domestic side of the business up. In 2015 we got invited to attend the NEC for the launch of Construction Week along with TV personality Craig Philips to discuss the challenges facing the construction industry.
2019 - Sunrise Plumbing and Heating proudly supported DIY SOS The Big Build where we were asked to oversee and install a full central heating system on BBC DIY SOS The Big Build Bromsgrove
2020 - Sunrise Plumbing and Heating was featured in Installer a national Trade plumbing magazine, Sunrise Plumbing and Heating proudly became Worcester Bosch Accredited as well as Baxi Approved
Present Day - Sunrise Plumbing and Heating continue to stick by our traditional values and continue to be a family business, we still sub contract to the water board, the escort van has been replaced by a new van for Jordan and a 4x4 Truck for me.
Jordan has continued to develop his skills and now Sunrise Plumbing and Heating can offer a full kitchens and bathrooms installation service with Air Conditioning coming soon. The holiday home in Lowestoft went in 2018 to be replaced with a home in Spain where Sol Heating and Plumbing is slowly staring to grow with the intention to cover the south of Costa Blanca
One thing is for sure it’s been hard work, a lot of sleepless nights and we have had our fair share of ups and downs but we wouldn’t change it for the world we still love going to work and our we appreciate each and everyone of our customers who have supported us over the years and welcome new customers in the years to come
