What boiler should I choose?

This is the most common question we get asked, choosing the correct correct  size boiler is something individual to your to you and your home, Sunrise Plumbing and Heating will do a comprehensive survey taking in to account how many bathrooms do you have, How many people live in your home and How many radiators do you have in the property. We will then take in to account how far the boiler is located from the gas meter to make sure your new boiler has the correct gas working pressure.  All new gas boilers are now condensing so again we will work out the best non intrusive way to run this pipe.

Over there years we have installed hundreds of new boilers and equally visited hundreds of faulty boiler this has given us excellent insight to reliability of boilers and allowed us to separate the good manufacturers from the bad..

We know that reliability, back up service from the manufacturer and the length of warranty’s is  another huge factor when it comes to choosing your new boiler so again we can recommend and install boilers with various warranties and guarantees up to 12 years

There are typically 3 different types of boilers to choose from

Combination Boilers (Combi) - A Combi boiler provides both you, with heating and your hot water from a single unit, typically wall hung and some compact combi boilers can be fitted in a kitchen cupboard, A big plus on a combination boiler is If you are looking for a new boiler that's highly energy efficient, a combi boiler might be the solution to saving you a small fortune on you energy bills

Heat Only (Regular) In simple terms the cold water tank which is normally located in your loft is filled from the mains water supply, this in turns feeds into the hot water cylinder by gravity. That’s where the water is warmed up by a heat exchanger inside your boiler, before it’s then used to supply your radiators, taps and showers with hot water.

A pump is also used to send all of the hot water that’s produced through your central heating system, supplying your home’s radiators.

A plus is that If you currently have a regular boiler it is easy to replace with a new high efficiency heat only boiler without too many pipework changes, keeping installation costs to a minimum.

System Boiler  A system boiler is a type of boiler that is commonly found in larger homes that require greater demands for heating and hot water. By featuring a separate cylinder for storing water, system boilers are able to provide a constant supply of hot water throughout the home, unlike combi boilers which can only heat water on demand.
